Describe:
My pinch pot is inspired by Ursula from The Little Mermaid, it is a pinch pot surrounded by purple octopus tentacles. Analyze: I first made the pinch pot and started my original design, then when that didn't work I just started playing with the clay. I ended up with a curvy line wrapping around my piece, which I turned into octopus tentacles. That lead me to the Ursula design. Interpret: I showed my theme of line and texture through this piece through the continuous tentacle around my piece. Judge: I do feel that my piece was successful because it completed the project prompt and it looks great.

Describe:
I made a elephant head. I first researched pictures of different elephants and then I found pictures of their anatomy. I then selected my elephant, sketched my piece, and then started sculpting the base of the head. I started with a pinch pot and then made the head and then the ears. Analyze: I created texture though the lines on the ears, the wrinkles on the trunk and eyes, and the watercolor by splattering pigment like sun damage. ' Interpret: I picked this animal because I wanted to create the ears and showcase something other than the face. Judge: I think my piece was successful because it does represent an elephant! Artist's Name:
Auguste Rodin Title: Hand Date: circa 1886 Size: 13 1/2 x 9 1/4 in. (34.3 x 23.5 cm) Medium: Bronze Cast This piece shows the expression in the human hand and I feel inspired to show emotion through a hand. I had this idea of doing a self harm piece and looking through the art I got a perfect idea of how I could go about that. |
